On summers days people swim in the 99.9999% pure water of Lake Waktipu. This is more pure than any commercially sold bottled water!

We are also big fans of the Australian illustrator Beci Orpin. She's done beautiful work for a huge range of clients from Mercedes to Mount Franklin. She also sells her own products including brooches and gorgeous embroidered cushions.

Switch off the lights at 8.30pm tonight in support of Earth Hour.

On our drive through Central Otago we  stopped at Amisfield winery for lunch, thank you Andy for recommending us to have a meal here. I can honestly say this was one of the best lunches I’ve had, we went with the chefs selection, where we could say our dietary requirements and any particular dishes we had our eye on and the chef did the rest.
There is a kitchen garden where the produce is picked fresh and the rest of the produce is sourced locally.
Amisfield Winery is located at Lake Hayes, 10 minutes from central Queenstown.
